“Thank you for a very successful dinner at Reid State Park last week! Our guests were thrilled with the event, the food, the service.. even the foggy, cool ambiance. Your decisions vis a vis the hot soup, the half soft shell and half hard shell were perfect! And your input and patience were invaluable to me. We are so very happy with the outcome. We look forward to visiting Sarah’s many times in the years to come.
Best Wishes, Fan Tuttle

Sarah,
Your staff was amazing and the food sublime!!! We are still enjoying the leftovers but wishing a few more of those scrumptious crab cakes had remained. The cake…now that was without question the BEST ever tasted….we are all shoveling the remaining in and not regretting one fat gram. Absolutely wonderful…blueberry spice has our vote!

Sarah,
You Have the Best Lobster Roll! Even better than we’ve got in Portland.
Tom from Portland
Hi Sarah,
I just wanted you to know that Larry, Kim, Caleb, and I ate at the Cafe on Sat. evening, in the pub, and I had the most amazing scallop dinner I have ever eaten. The scallops were tender and cooked to perfection. Also the asparagus was a surprising delight! I have always stayed away from thick asparagus thinking they were apt to be tough but these were crisp and tender. The vinagerette was wonderful. Greg was a great server and made a mean Margaretta. I wanted you to know that we had a perfect yummy meal.
Thanks! Dawn
Hi, My husband and I happened upon Sarah’s Cafe when we were holidaying in New England. We were touring through small towns in our rented car and had lunch last week at your cafe. There we had the BEST crab cakes ever!! And we’re experts as we lived on crab cakes, lobster rolls and clam chowder for three weeks. I was hoping that the recipe would be on your Web site. Would you consider sharing it? We live in Vancouver, BC, Canada. My husband grew up in a family of commercial fishermen and all the meals we have together center around fish dishes of one sort or another. We would love to be able to surprise our family with the best crab cakes in the world.
Thanks, Jennifer
Dear Sarah’s Cafe,
I am writing this letter to complement you on the wonderful job you do of making such delicious meals. My favorite meal is the spinach, ham and cheese matey. Keep up the good work! People like me, love having a restaurant just like yours in town! My other favorite meal is the chicken salad sandwich, but my favorite meal is the matey. I am an 8th grader from Wiscasset Middle School and I think that it is great to have you in town.
And able to go there for lunch and dinner!

Dear Sarah,
A note to tell you how pleased we were with the food, the service and the presentation for the luncheon after my mother’s funeral. Your soups and stuffed bread were delicious . . . I couldn’t stop eating the bread myself. Everyone there enjoyed everything and it provided us with a wonderful occasion to welcome and say good-bye at the same time to relatives that had traveled such distances to be with our family. I shall always remember to recommend your services when the occasion allows it. How far away from Wiscasset do you do catering???
Thank you for outstanding service and food.

Dear Santa’s Helper:
I just wanted to send you a note to thank you very much for the generosity you have shown to area families this year. Each year the “Santa Fund” program seems to grow and get better and better. This year the program provided funds to 20 families, which included 47 children. Besides the Santa Fund Money collected, 13 families were adopted by local organizations and caring people from the area. I am sure their Christmas was much brighter because of your kindness.
Again, thank you and the best to you in the coming year.
Sue Varney, Office Supervisor, Town of Wiscasset
Our vacations would not be complete without stopping at your place a few times. Saturday morning sunrises, a hot cup of your coffee, great view from your windows, can’t beat it.

To Sarah’s Cafe,
Thank you for supporting our “Break the Barriers” concert to Honor Dr. Martin Luther King. Wiscasset is lucky to have such a supportive business willing to get involved with the local community. We thought that you were being generous when you offered us a two for the price of one deal on the pizzas. Imagine our great surprise and delight when we walked in to settle the bill and you offered to donate all the pizza! Thank you.
We also appreciate your willingness to work with us again in the future. We especially like your idea about having different types of ethnic foods, if we decide to have a similar event in the future. At the concert many people made along the lines of “This pizza is so good!”
Thank you for everything you did

My husband and I just returned to Ohio from Maine. We enjoyed having lunch at Sarah’s several times while we were there. We always seem to come back when we are in the area. We found Sarah’s many years back when you were across the street. Things have not changed with the quality of food. Always good. Thanks and keep up the good work.
See you next year.

Sarahs Cafe has the best food,no contest,in midcoast Maine!I am a displaced Mainer living in Colorado, and when home my favorite is the Haddock Matey. The food and service is #1 in my opinion.

Hello!
My mother and I visited Maine a few years ago, and stopped at Sarah’s for lunch. We absolutely loved the food and service. The meals were one of a kind. Based on my previous visit, I convinced my husband to stop on our honeymoon. He and I (once again) found the food to be fresh, and delicious!! We took pictures out on the deck and have them in our honeymoon scrapbook. I recommend your restaurant to everyone I know. Thanks for an outstanding eating experience!!!!
Sincerely,
Rebecca Blenman Ashtabula Ohio
Dear Sarah’s, Over 15 years ago, my lovely new bride and I stopped in for dinner at this quaint little place named Sarah’s while on our honeymoon. Years later, while retracing our footsteps, we included a stop at Sarah’s in our plans. Our hearts sank when we noticed the little store was empty. We were so certain this was a cafe that was just too wonderful to fail. Imagine our gleeful surprise when your new facility suddenly burst onto the scene!
Sincere best wishes,
Bill and Karen Schrock Gridley, Illinois
Dear Sarah’s Cafe,
I just would like to let you know that ya’ll have the best corn chowder that I have ever ate.

Dear Sarah’s cafe,
Many years ago my husband and I stumbled into your lovely town and restaurant on the way to Mount Desert Island. Now whenever we come to Maine we head straight to Wiscasset and to your restaurant. Friends of ours from CT recently invited us to their wedding in August and imagine our delight when we found it would be held in Wiscasset! My husband and I just looked at each other and said “We get to go to Sarah’s!” 🙂

My husband and I just spent two nights in Boothbay Harbor, but stopped at your cafe on the way up and back for lunch. We couldn’t believe it. I have never seen a soup and bread bar such as the likes of yours. What a display of desserts!!!!!! We wish you had a place near our home in Salem New Hampshire, or at the very least were within an hours ride. I want to bring all my friends and relatives. Your pastries, breads and soups are to die for. We will stop again when we are in your area.
Cynthia and Bob Leonard

Dear Sarah,
My husband and I are very satisfied customers to your restaurant. We have become addicted to your famous haddock chowder. We have tried to duplicate it, but haven’t succeeded yet. No chowder around has even come close to yours. One of my favorite dishes is your Greek Croissant. Going to lunch at Sarah’s is always something to look forward to. Thank you for making a dining experience very special.

We at the State Chamber want to thank you for the incredible evening that you provided for our “Strictly Social”. The entire evening was a great success, the food was the best we have had, and your staff was above and beyond with their service.

We just got back to Florida after a delightful trip to Maine. One special highlight was the Apple – Cranberry Pie after a great lunch at Sarah’s. How do you ever make such a delicious crust for your pie?? My son is in the Navy at Brunswick and led us to this great food. Thanks to you and him for a wonderful meal.
